The Farmer's Dog

Opened by Jeremy Clarkson and featured in Clarkson's Farm, The Farmer's Dog sits on the A40 at Asthall Barrow, near Burford. It's a proper country pub with a simple philosophy: serve food and drink made from British produce, much of it grown or reared on nearby farms.

Inside you'll find a traditional bar with exposed beams and roaring fires in winter, while outside there's plenty of space to enjoy a pint of Hawkstone lager in the sunshine. The menu is short and hearty, built around steaks, burgers, pies and seasonal specials.

The pub is very popular, so check the website for opening times and arrive early, especially at weekends.

It pairs perfectly with a visit to the Diddly Squat Farm Shop or an afternoon exploring nearby Burford.
